With deep sadness, family and friends are mourning the passing of Gavin English, of Dublin 8 and formerly of Knocklyon, D16, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional care of the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross.
Gavin’s passing has left a profound sense of loss among those who knew and loved him. While his time with his family and friends was far too short, the memories he created, the love he shared, and the special place he held in the hearts of those closest to him will continue to live on forever.
Gavin was the beloved son of Catherine and Noel English and a much-loved brother to Tracey and Laura. He was a cherished member of his family, bringing love, warmth, and treasured moments to those around him. His presence brought joy and meaning to the lives of his parents, sisters, brothers-in-law, nephews, extended family, and friends.
He will be deeply missed by his loving parents, sisters Tracey and Laura, brothers-in-law John and Darragh, and his beloved nephews Jonathan, Andrew, Fionnán, and Caelan, who will forever hold precious memories of him in their hearts.
Throughout his life, Gavin was surrounded by the love and support of his family, who remained by his side during his final moments. Their care, devotion, and strength reflect the deep bond they shared and the lasting impact Gavin had on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
As news of Gavin’s passing spreads, heartfelt condolences are being shared by family, friends, and members of the wider Dublin community. His memory will continue to be honored through the stories, laughter, and special moments shared with those who loved him.
Funeral arrangements have been announced. Gavin will repose at Massey Bros. Funeral Home, Templeogue Village, D6W AC82, for family and friends on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. at St. Colmcille’s Church, Idrone Avenue, D16 R799, followed by cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium at 1:00 p.m.
The family has requested no flowers, but donations, if desired, may be made in Gavin’s memory to Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, in appreciation of the compassionate care provided.
