HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Family, friends, and the Smithsburg community are mourning the tragic loss of Clayton Hendrix, who died following a motorcycle crash in Hagerstown on Friday, July 17. He was 20 years old.

According to the Hagerstown Police Department, officers responded at approximately 5:09 p.m. to the 1700 block of Dual Highway following reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a Subaru.
When officers arrived, they found Clayton Hendrix suffering from fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Subaru was transported to Meritus Medical Center with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
The Hagerstown Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team responded to investigate the collision. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing, and the completed findings will be forwarded to the Washington County State’s Attorney’s Office for review and determination of any applicable charges. Officials have not released additional information as the investigation continues.
