According to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, the tragic crash occurred at approximately 5:05 p.m. at the intersection of US Highway 45 South and Old US Highway 45 in McCracken County. Investigators reported that Earl was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima eastbound on Old US Highway 45 while crossing the highway when his vehicle collided with a 2012 Nissan Altima traveling southbound.
The second vehicle was driven by Cynthia Wilhelm, 68, of Paducah. The two vehicles collided in a broadside impact, resulting in serious injuries and requiring an immediate emergency response. First responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported both drivers to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
